Your host, the Taferner Family

A charming, welcoming hotel

Our story began in 1950 …

… when Grandma Zenzi opened the Hotel Post in the centre of Anterselva. In 1966, she handed it over to my father Engl, and he and his wife Fanni (my mother) ran it together for many years. In 2015, the hotel passed to me, Wolfgang. So, the family tradition has already lasted for three generations ... and the fourth is also here in the hotel.

Simple, traditional and welcoming ...

... that's the Hotel Post! Feel at home and enjoy yourself: at breakfast, at the bar and at dinner, when Junior Chef Wolfgang, together with Andrea and Senior Hostess Fanni will delight you with their tasty cooking. In our new dining-room, traditional bar or Tyrolean stube, you can enjoy genuine Tyrolean dumplings, "mezzelune" pasta stuffed with spinach or potatoes (called Schlutzkrapfen) and other local dishes, such as Krapflan and Tirtlan. Fanni's luscious apple strudel is always a popular favourite, made to a mysterious and ancient recipe.

Sun, wellbeing and relaxation

Enjoy all this on our sunny terrace and in our garden. You can top up with warmth and sunshine, but also cool down with fresh water from the famous Salamone spring, known locally as the Hartmannsbrunnen.

Deep relaxation whenever you like …

Enjoy our sauna. It's very welcome if you return from a long walk or a cross-country ski excursion with aching muscles. But it's also an ideal way to recharge your batteries or to forget about the daily grind.

Sustainability is close to our hearts…

As hosts at Hotel Post in the Anterselva Valley, we feel deeply connected to our home. The mountains, the clear air and the cultural landscape shaped over generations make this place so special – and, at the same time, so worth protecting. For us, that’s not something to take for granted, but a value we strive to preserve every day. We try to handle resources mindfully, to rely on regional products, and to treat nature with respect – and people, too.

Our guests are an important part of this journey too. Together, we want to create a holiday that is not only relaxing, but also in harmony with its surroundings. It’s often the small things that make the difference – and that help preserve this special place for the long term.

Together, we create a place that delights today and remains a wonderful place to live for generations to come. Together with our destination

The Anterselva Valley has deliberately chosen a sustainable path. At Hotel Post, we follow this path with conviction too. As part of our destination, it matters to us to take responsibility, care for nature, and offer our guests a holiday in harmony with its surroundings.

MOBILITY
In the Anterselva Valley, you have access to eco-friendly, well-connected mobility – comfortable, flexible and sustainable. Bus line 431 connects all the villages in the valley with Valdaora train station and Lake Anterselva. From there, the Val Pusteria railway takes you effortlessly to other parts of South Tyrol. With the Kronplatz Guest Pass, you can use all public transport in South Tyrol free of charge – a simple, sustainable way to explore the region. In the summer months, the 2-Lakes Shuttle takes you directly from Lake Anterselva to the Stalle Pass – relaxed and without having to search for parking. In winter, a ski bus provides a convenient connection to the Kronplatz ski area, so you can head straight to the slopes without a car. Whether by bus, train, bike or on foot: the Anterselva Valley offers many ways to enjoy nature mindfully and in a climate-friendly way.
MINDFUL USE OF RESOURCES
Whether in the kitchen or in day-to-day operations: wherever possible, we rely on suppliers and products from the Anterselva Valley and the surrounding area. Short supply chains not only protect the environment, but also support the local economy and the diversity of local businesses.
PRESERVING NATURE
Clean drinking water and an unspoiled landscape are not something we take for granted. That’s why we place particular importance on using water mindfully and on reducing waste throughout the hotel – from the kitchen to the guest rooms.
COMMUNITY & TOGETHERNESS
A lively valley thrives on its people. We support local clubs and associations and their volunteer commitment, because they shape community life in the Anterselva Valley and make possible the sense of community our guests experience here.
MINDFUL ENJOYMENT
For us, enjoyment doesn’t need to be loud. We treasure the simplicity that defines the Anterselva Valley – unspoiled nature, peace and quiet, and moments that can’t be bought. That’s exactly what we want our guests to experience.

There's no doubt that our hotel makes an excellent starting point: you're within easy reach of Lake Anterselva, the biathlon and cross-country ski arena, the Plan de Corones, the Passo Stalle mountain huts and many other lovely spots. The local buses stop right in front of our hotel, and will take you to lots of different places.
